What is Georgetown Village?
Georgetown Village is a membership-based, community-driven organization that helps older adults remain in their homes while staying socially connected and supported through shared resources, services, and activities.
What types of volunteer services does the Village provide?
Georgetown Village volunteers provide a wide range of services to help our members, including driving members to medical appointments and other errands, assisting members with tech problems, shoveling snow for members, taking out heavy garbage bins for members, and much more.
Are subsidized memberships available?
Yes! We never want finances to prevent individuals from joining the Village. We offer an income-eligible subsidized membership program with rates as low as $8 a month. This subsidy program maintains the confidentiality of participants and grants full access to all Village events and services.
Who can join the Village as a member?
Membership is available to all adults 55 years and older living within the Georgetown Village service area, which includes Georgetown, Hillandale, Burleith, and nearby areas. Out-of-bounds memberships are available for those who live outside of our catchment area.
What different types of membership are available?
Georgetown Village offers social and full-service memberships for individuals and households. Both social and full-service membership grant full access to Village events. Full-service membership also grants access to our volunteer services, including transportation, tech support, and more.
What services does the Village provide to the broader community?
The Village has durable medical equipment available for use by anyone in the community. Our collection includes wheelchairs, walkers, crutches, and other supplies. Additionally, a number of Village events are open to the community, promoting neighborly connections and cultural enrichment.
What does membership include?
All membership categories grant full access to Village programs, including exercise classes, mahjong, book club discussions, museum trips, and more. In addition to event access, full-service memberships grant access to our volunteer support services.
How much does Village membership cost?
Annual dues for individual membership (whether full-service or social) are $600. Annual dues for household membership (whether full-service or social) are $900. For social members, a portion of the annual dues — $500 for an individual member and $700 for a household members — are tax deductible.

To join the Village, please fill out and submit our membership application form along with your annual dues payment. Once this has been completed, someone from the Village will be reaching out to you to welcome you to the Village and share more information about our upcoming programs.
